About Us

Kids’ Klubs had it’s beginning in 1952 when the Illinois Valley Christian Business Men’s Association felt God leading them to start a ministry to reach children. As a result, in 1953, a non-denominational ministry of Bible Klubs that works through area churches and individuals was born. The klubs meet weekly from September through March and include Bible stories, singing, games, awards, and scripture memory. Each Klub is led by a Director and meets in churches or community centers after school, evenings, or on Sundays. Kids’ Klubs provides materials to each klub that is returned at the end of the year.

The klub Director(s) organize the volunteers for the klubs and prepare lesson plans. The lessons go through the Bible – Genesis through Revelation on a 7 year cycle. The cost to each klub is very minimal and all memory verses, materials, and awards are given to the klubbers at no cost. Kids’ Klubs is funded by the gifts of friends and churches and is a faith ministry. Even though the major emphasis is children grades K-6, a few go through 8th grade. Each klub year ends with a Rally for all the Klubs with Sword Drill and Memory Verse competitions and Awards.

Kids’ Klubs is headquartered in Malden, Illinois and is administered by a full-time Director and a 7 member board. We have office volunteers who help weekly with different aspects of the ministry and a few part-time/seasonal staff. Prayer has always been central to everything we do and is supported by our Intercessor Ministry. All of our churches along with many individuals and families have committed to praying weekly for this ministry. Our prayer is that God will continue to use Kids’ Klubs to reach children for Him and to help them to grow spiritually.

Camping has also been a part of the Kids’ Klubs ministry since the early years. We continue to have an overnight camp each year for children entering Grades 4 – 8. Teens serve as Helpers in Training (HITS). Area churches help sponsor kids, donate food, and send adults to help with camp. Currently, we have been using Streator Baptist Camp as our location. We do our own cooking and programming while the Camp provides the facilities and lifeguards for swimming. We are thankful to God for all that He has done for the many children who have been reached for Him. We will never know how many lives were touched or changed through the ministry of Kids’ Klubs, but we give all the praise to our wonderful God, whom we serve.

Kids’ Klubs Inc

Statement of Faith

We believe that the Bible is made up of sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings and is of supreme and final authority in faith and life. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning, and the Kids’ Klubs Board and Directors shall determine all issues of interpretation and meaning. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:20-21)
We believe in one God existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-equal and eternal. (Deut. 6:4; Matt 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14; John 14:10,26)
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man. (Isa. 7:14; 9:6, Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; 2 Cor. 5:19-21; Gal. 4:4-5; Phil 2:5-8)
We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word and deed. (Gen 1:26-27; Rom. 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Eph. 2:1-3; 4:17-19)
We believe that salvation has been provided through the substitutionary sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, who suffered, bled, and died for our sins upon the cross, rose from the dead and ascended to God’s right hand. (Acts 2:18-36; Rom. 3:24-25; 1 Pet. 2:24; Eph. 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5)
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, that all who receive Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. (John 1:12; Eph. 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Pet. 1:18-19; Matt 12:31-32; 1 John 1:9)
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; and that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration. We further believe that there is one baptism with the Spirit and it is into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing each believer unto the day of redemption. Pentecost is an historical event and is not to be repeated, therefore we do not accept the teaching that speaking in tongues is associated with either the initial receiving of the Holy Spirit or as the evidence of His fullness. (John 16:8-11; Rom. 8:9; 1 Cor. 12:12-14, 22; 13:8; 14:21-22; 2 Cor. 3:6; Eph. 1:13-14)
We believe in “that blessed hope”, the personal, premillennial and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. (Ps. 89:3-4; Dan. 2:31-45; Zech. 14:4-11; 1 Thess. 1:10, 1 Thess. 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Rev. 3:10; 19:11-16; 20:1-6)
We believe that Satan is a person and the author of sin and the cause of the fall, that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man and, that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. (Job 1:6-7; Isa. 14:12-17; Matt 4:2-11; 25:41; Rev. 20:10)
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of all who reject our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt. 25:46; John 5:28,29; 11:25-26; Rev. 20:5-6; 12-13)
We believe that all believers should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon our Savior and Lord. (Rom. 12:1-2; 14:13; 2 Cor. 6:14-7:1; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; 1 John 2:15-17; 2 John 9-11; Lev. 19:28; 1 Cor. 6:19-20)
We believe it is the responsibility of all who are saved to seek to win others to Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:20)
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one’s gender by surgery or appearance. (Gen 2:24; Gen. 19:5, 13; Gen 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom. 1:26-29; 1 Cor 5:1, 6:9; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4)
We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Gen. 2:24; Rom. 7:2; 1 Cor. 7:10; Eph. 5:22-23)
Teacher Workshops

Teacher Workshops

Every August we hold a teacher workshop for all of our Kids’ Klubs directors, teachers, and helpers. We host a meal and a presentation with that year’s klub materials, supplies, and information and answer any questions they may have. We go over any new guidelines, forms, or changes to the curriculum and pray for any special needs or concerns anyone shares. Once Klubs start, we make a visit to each one and in November we deliver the second semester’s materials. At the end of the year we make another visit and present the Klub with their Awards the students have earned.
Kids Klubs

Klub

This is our weekly meeting we have with kids from K-6 and some Klubs also have 7th and 8th graders involved. Klub is a time of fun, games, and snacks along with a Bible lesson, memory verses, and sword drill practice. Children sing songs, answer questions, and study through the Bible on a 7 year curriculum rotation. Children also have different awards they can earn from Bible reading, memory verse, and attendance.
Kids Klubs Rally Photo

Rally

At the end of the Klub year we hold an All Klub Rally with Sword Drill and Memory Verse competitions. This usually takes place in late March and we rotate between locations, usually one of our supporting churches. We sing songs, honor our Klub workers, and announce all the Awards that Klubs earned. We also share who earned Honor Klubber of the Year and rally trophies are given out along with the Memory Verse award. Rally is a wonderful celebration of another completed year of Kids’ Klubs.

Camp

Every summer in late June we hold a summer camp for children who have completed at least 3rd grade and up. It is a 5 day overnight camp held at Streator Baptist Camp in Streator, IL. We do all of our own cooking and programming for the week, utilizing teen HITS (Helpers In Training) along with adult staff. We have Bible studies, chapel, campfires, sports, games, and afternoon activities like swimming, archery, and crafts. Most of our campers come year after year along with new campers each year. We have a different theme and a banquet at the end of camp along with a closing ceremony that the family is invited to. Camp is one of the highlights of the year that everyone looks forward to.

The Board meets every month to pray for and make decisions that support the ministry Director and the overall functions of Kids’ Klubs.
Kids Klubs Volunteers

Kids' Klubs Office Volunteers

We are blessed to have a small group of office volunteers that work Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each week helping support the administrative work of Kids’ Klubs Inc. They do all the behind the scenes work of preparing klub materials for workshops, making Christmas ornaments, and Rally awards for the end of the year. They also prepare all Camp materials and supplies and even volunteer at Camp with a variety of activities including crafts, snack time, and meal service. Our volunteers in the office also help prepare our newsletters and any special projects for Klubs.
